Disappointed, this has been a great place which has lost its way.
The cat The price was cheap The wines - very good - but we found they are sold cheaper in a nearby supermarket.
Where do we begin - once upon a time this has been a wonderful hotel but has been let go. There is a lovely restaurant which has been awarded Michelin stars 2013/14/15 but now only opens 2 hours for lunch everyday and 2 hours Friday & Saturday nights only. Don’t expect to be fed at night unless you have pre- ordered a cold meal to be prepared at lunch, otherwise only cold tapas are available. The bedroom was getting ready for a repaint, the bed very firm, no fridge or complimentary water, everything else in there was fine, but if there is a storm the power trips so you have to re-insert your room key into its electric point. We did a wine tour, only the 2 of us and our guide spoke less English than we speak Spanish, we were given notes in English, our guide met us at the hotel and advised when it was built, he then took us to the winery pointing at the fields on the way, it was Sunday so nothing was operational yet it was mid harvest, but he went through their processes and we established the grapes were grown naturally with no addition of pesticides or insecticides but harvested by machine over a 2-3 month period by vineyard staff only. He then showed us an area of wines reserved for families who are part of their wine club, we then ended up in the restaurant for our ‘tasting’, he arranged for us to be given a glass each of Talva with cured Monchello cheese, then went into the kitchen as he was the chef. We were offered no further wine to taste. So we got fed we decided to have the Sunday lunch, we choose a set 3 course menu which included water, wine & coffee for €27 each, the starters were excellent, the mains we both choose wrong for our tastes, the sweets were good, we got 2 glasses of wine each but no coffee, service was not the best but probably due to the language barrier, the Spanish got far better service, with top ups of wine and coffee. We struggled to find the pool which only had 1 sun-bed.

Energetic staff running between the reception and shop to serve. The wine tour is a lovely experience for our family. Great food pairing with wine in the restaurant you shouldn't miss them.
